MOQ and Lead Time: What to Expect When Buying Steel from China
The two questions every buyer asks first. Short, honest answers from a Tianjin stockist.
What is a typical MOQ?Steel plate: 5 t per grade and thickness. Pipe: 5 t (10 t for API line pipe). Fittings: 50 pcs per item. Samples and trial orders are negotiable.
How long does delivery take?In-stock items ship in about 7 days ex-warehouse. Custom rolling needs 30-45 days. Fittings from stock: 15 days including export packing.
Can I mix products in one container?Yes. Plate, pipe, fittings and hardware are consolidated at one Tianjin warehouse and loaded together — one shipment, one document set.
What documents come with the goods?Mill test certificate, packing list and commercial invoice as standard; SGS third-party inspection and CO/FORM A on request.
Which port do you ship from?Tianjin by default; Qingdao for southern mills. FOB and CIF both available.
